Dance, music competitions
DIMAPUR: In connection with Aoleang festival –cum-state road show in Mon on April 7 and 8, convenor, music, fashion show and extravaganza Alongse Sangtam has informed that dance and music competition will be held during the event. Pre-audition for dance competition will be held at council hall on March 27, 10 a.m. and for music pre- audition will be held on March 27 at D.C. Conference Hall at 10 am. Further, Music Task Force with support of ‘Casio’ will be hosting a Casio piano clinic, for target youth between 5-13 years who have no background of music or are interested to learn the basics of piano playing, and introduction to reading music staff notation. The Sunday school children of the local churches, schools have been informed to bring children for participation. Poetry Society coordinator lauded
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA), Dimapur unit has lauded Noel Manuel, coordinator Poetry Society (India) North East Region for his contribution to poetry and literature. A press release issued by president ANSTA Dimapur P. Vashum unit said 5th Nagaland Poetry Competition held on March 15 at Kohima where poets from all over northeast participated had been a remarkable effort of coordinator.

Pungro village gets computer center
DIMAPUR: The much needed computer center donated by 69 Engineering Corps Rangapahar under MCA ops Sadbhavana was inaugurated by T Chuba Jamir, chairman Socio –Economic and Ecological Awareness Forum (SEEAF) as chief guest on March 19 at Pungo subdivision. The guest of honour for the occasion was Subedar Krishan Biharof 69 Engineers. The chief guest expressed gratitude to GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen NK Singh and team of engineers lead by chief Er Brig Rajesh Tyagi and CO 69 engineers and parliamentary secretary CAWD T Torechu. KOHIMA: Aphuyemi Sumi Kuqhakulu Kohima has clarified that Hupebo Chisho, who was caught for theft on March 20 published in a local daily, was not from Pughoboto area but from Kuhuboto town.
NPF youth wing flays bandh
Dimapur: Strongly opposing the six-hour state wide bandh called by the state Congress party on March 20, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Youth Wing Zunheboto Division has stated that despite the bandh the normal life passed off peacefully in Zunheboto town.
The youth wing in a press statement by its president, Vikaho T. Zhimomi further thanked the business unions, shop owners and public for their support and cooperation with the party for carrying out their usual activities without any hindrance during the bandh.
NA&HSSA new team
KOHIMA: The Nagaland Agriculture and Horticulture Sun-ordinate Service Association, during its 16th general session held at Dimapur, selected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2010-12.
The new team include Shekheto Chishi as the president, L. Lohe Chakhesang as the vice president, Makenlemba Ao as the general secretary, I. Lucklee Chang as joint secretary; Yentsao Lotha as treasurer- cum- finance secretary and also elected eleven district unit presidents, and former president Asheto Sumi as the advisor.
