Drawing attention to the article ‘ANCSU plea to VC, NUTA’ published in a local daily on March 18, president of Public College of Commerce (PCC) Aghato Yeptho clarified that Vikashe Zhimo declaring himself as president of ANCSU was “a self styled who doesn’t know even a single issue faced by students.”
PCC president stated that the by - election for the post of ANCSU president held on January 30 was boycotted by majority of the units present, as the election commission had implemented criteria adopted by the ANCSU executive. The criteria was rejected by the units in the emergency federal assembly held on January 25 in the presence of three Tribunal members and two election commission members.
Aghato further requested all units, business community, NGOs and the government not to entertain the ‘self styled’ presidents, vice presidents and general secretary as the units have already passed a no confidence motion against the vice president and the general secretary for misleading the ANCSU.
He also requested the speaker to convene the union assembly as a letter had already been dispatched to him and the constitution states that that the assembly has be convened within 20 days of receipt of application and asked the tribunals to solve the problems. He cautioned that if the matter could not be solved then units would have no option but de-affiliate from ANCSU platform for 2009-11.
