4 UTLA cadres killed in rival fight in M’pur

Bullet riddled bodies of four suspected cadres of United Tribal Liberation Front (UTLA) were recovered by troops of Assam Rifles from a place at Longkaophul village in interior Tamenglong district early Monday, police said.
Police suspected the cadres killed in a rival clash between the UTLA and suspected NSCN (K) cadres but this could not be immediately confirmed.
According to police sources, the cadres belonging to UTLA were believed to be killed in the clash between the two rival groups last night, where both the rival groups are operating actively.
Troops of 6 Assam Rifles entered the area early today on getting the information of the clash last night discovered the dead bodies, the report said adding that further search operation went on there to find out if other dead bodies there.
UTLA fighting with other rival groups in hill areas of Manipur was also reported some times back.
In December last year also the group engaged in gunfight Kuki National Front (KNF) at Longlong Lamkhai of Tamenglong district, killing three cadres of the latter.
