: Replying to NPCC on alleging the government for misusing Rs. 20 crores out of Rs.30 crores approved for roads and bridges projects under 12th Finance Commission, the PWD (roads and bridges) has said that the allegation was “false, misleading and without relying records.” Chief engineer, PWD (roads and bridges) said that the case was in the works programme 2009-10 and that after observing all codel formalities, work orders were issued against the sanctioned amount which was under progress. He informed that the government released Rs. 15 crores and not Rs. 20 crores as first installment for the work out of the total sanctioned amount of Rs.30 crores, of which payments were made accordingly. Detailed report are maintained by the department and shall be furnished to those who apply, he said. The department further stated that such false statements affected the image of the department, defamed its employees and sent wrong messages to the common people and cause untold damages. It also said that baseless allegations should be avoided as responsible citizens.
