MLA, Y. Hewoto Awomi exhorted the congregation at a revival crusade held at Vikuto village on March 21. Speaking at the crusade as a special guest, Hewoto urged the believers and Church leaders to focus only on healthy spiritual growth rather than competing among religious denominations.
He asserted that spiritual gifts and religious designations must be used wisely and fearfully in its proper perspective and Churches must also look into the side of the economy which was largely affected by many religious activities. Dwelling upon the moral responsibilities of the churches towards the society he urged the churches to play vital role in bringing about changes in our society which is blemished with many evils and ideological differences. “While others gather wealth, you treasure Jesus for your eternal wealth” he implied to the believers.
Hewoto also donated Rs. 50,000 to the NSBAK, Rs. 50,000 to the host Church and Rs. 23,000 to the Village. The three day revival crusade and healing from March 19 to 21 at Vikuto Village was attended by more than 500 believers from 13 Churches under Northern Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu.
The main speakers of the crusade were Rev. Hukugha, director, Mission & Evangelism, SBAK (Nito Mount) and Kughato, secretary, development and property, SBAK (Nito Mount).
