Houses gutted in Tuensang, Kiphire

A house with 17 rooms and kitchen were completely burnt by fire on Wednesday near Montessori Kids School in Tuensang at around 9 a.m. According to sources, the house belonging to Shaki Yim, DB Tuensang caught fire from kitchen owing to ignition of electric heater which lasted for about nearly two hours. Although, there was no report of any casualties or injury in the inferno till the filing of this report, properties worth around Rs. 23 lakh , Arms Licenses and various documents were burnt in the fire. Police forces and district administration rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation and fire brigades brought the fire under control after two hours.
Meanwhile, a house belonging to Tsalongse Sangtam of Phelungre villager was gutted on March 21 by a fire at 10 pm . According to a press release issued by Phelungre Union Kiphire Town general, secretary S Benjuntemse, the four family members rushed out of the house as the fire spread the whole house. Property worth about Rs 19 lakhs ere destroyed and another 10 lakhs worth properties belonging to three families were destroyed.
