A four day assembly of Don Bosco (DB) Institutions for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland culminated on March 26 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur. Fr. James Poonthuruthil, Regional Direction, said “It was a journey of self examination and renewal for a deeper commitment to mission of Don Bosco, the founder of the society”. The assembly reviewed its life and activities in the past three years and made plans to improve its service in the society. It also studied ways and means of improving and finding newer ways of empowering the youth of the region through various trainings.
The assembly’s main aim was to verify the implementation of decisions taken by 26th General Assembly of International Don Bosco Society, at Rome, in 2006. Regional Director appreciated Fr. Nestor Guria, Coordinator of Assembly, for his hard work in organizing the assembly and the members for their honesty in voicing their views and ideas.
In the course of the discussions during the four days, the seventy participants aired their views and opinions on several activities and issues concerning the organizations itself, the training and formation of its members, new strategies and lines of action for the coming three years on several fronts.
