Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) has appealed all ministers , parliamentary secretaries to stop overriding directors and heads of departments in selecting beneficiaries for various schemes and projects. A release issued by EUUN president Achilo Thong stated that VVIPs 'deduct more than 30% of their share from department budget' and also pressurized heads of departments to extend 'fund to their candidates.' The release stated that it would be better to let directors select the candidates as beneficiaries receiving funds with political background never implemented the schemes. It asked to bring more transparency by implementing central government guidelines viz constitute selection board and task force committees for the schemes from state/ district level NGOs to prevent manipulation. Further, union said all beneficiaries not giving project locations as done by the Vety and AH department must be treated as a scam. The release questioned as to why food items were imported despite being top in the farming sector. It also said 'year of the farmer' was a 'total failure' except on paper as most of the people found it difficult to eat rice twice a day. EUUN cautioned it would not remain a silent spectator if justice were not delivered
