DHMSS starts 25th anniv programmes

To prepare itself for the 25th anniversary celebration of the school, Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School (DMHSS) on Friday organized the silver jubilee curtain raiser programme with much enthusiasm at Dimapur Ao Baptist Church, Khermahal, Dimapur with Kiremwati, former pro-chancellor, North-East Hill University as guest of honour. Speaking on occasion, the former pro-vice chancellor emphasized on the implication of the name of every institution and encouraged the teachers, students and parents to perform their duties for smooth functioning of the institution. He expressed that every institution was named in memory of a person or to project its objective and said the name of mission implies love and in this regard called upon the teachers to carry out their profession with faith. Kiremwati also said the Church and the school have the same objective in developing and making a person what one should be, thought the church give more emphasis to spiritual and less on physical development while the school emphasized more on physical growth. He compared the school to an organic tree and said the teachers, students and parents ought to execute their responsibility for proper functioning of the school and asserted that like the falling leaves manure the soil so also the alumni of the school manure the school. Terming teaching profession as a noble deed, Kerimwati said everything in nature moved in rhythm and the love of teachers, the unspoken language towards the lives of students has effects throughout the life and that the teachers would not know where the ripples end. The former pro-vice chancellor further said love as the motivator of teaching profession demands sacrifice and expressed hope that the school would grow into unknown future for the benefit of the students and for the greater glory of God. Bringing greetings on the occasion, L. Sunep, Aonok, former headmaster of the school expressed delight as the school had grown-up with the grace of God. He also expressed that every teacher in a mission school is a missionary and greeted on the occasion to deeper as they march forward to achieve the goal. The occasion was marked with folk dance on animation of the fish and hornbill, fixing my eyes on you by the tiny tots and special songs by the jubilee choir. In the programme, Rev. N. Tzudir, pastor, DABA, welcome note by Lanulemba Jamir, chairman, governing board and acknowledgment by the principal. The school would be organising various competitions as part of the silver jubilee celebration.
