All Nagaland Aggrieved Adhoc Teachers (ANAATA) on Friday raised concern over the prolonging probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the bogus appointment of teachers under education department. Addressing media persons at DEO office, Dimapur, president of the association Hekeyi Liriki claimed that all the appointments of their 500 plus members were genuine and routed through proper channels. The association also slammed the authorities for withholding their salaries from January, 2009 through an unofficial order even though the order from the government stated that it was to be implemented from the month of May, 2009. He alleged that the recruitment of teachers during the last decade was not done through open recruitment as it should have been. He added that even the interview results for appointment of teachers held in 1998 was yet to be declared. On a memorandum submitted to the government on February 18, Hekeyi said that none of the officials and ministers were willing to cooperate and had instead put the entire blame on the ongoing probe by the SIT. He said the association had even approached the SIT office but could not obtain satisfactory answer for prolonging the report. Hekeyi said even the additional secretary of the department was not aware of any extension notice given to the SIT. He informed that the Adhoc teachers under Kiphire district were already given extension orders reportedly on the clean chit given by an SP of the Vigilance department.
