Forest dept staff trained on forest management

State environment & forestry training institute, Dimapur with sponsorship from forest research institute, Dehradun conducted a training for five days from February 23 on ‘capacity building for communities involved in sustainable forest management’ at SEFT, Dimapur. The training was given to frontline staff of forest department and JFMC members. Besides Frontline staff from Dimapur, Peren and Mokokchung division, JFMC members from two districts, Peren and Mokokchung attended the training. The valedictory function concluded with vote of thanks from Director, SEFTI, Imtiwabang and Course Director, M. Obed Zeliang, followed by speech from chief guest T. Lotha IFS, Conservator of Forests (RP&U), who elucidated the participants about their new task and challenges ahead of them. Later, certificates were distributed by the chief guest.
