Combine service association meet on 6th ROP DIMAPUR: Combine service association meeting has convened on March 3 at Red Cross building, PR Hill, Kohima at 11am to discuss implementation of 6th ROP in the state. All members and associations have been requested to attend the meeting. ANSTGA holds executive meeting DIMAPUR: Executive meeting of All Nagaland Small Tea Growers Association (ANSTGA) was held on February 26 at Darogapather Dimapur under chairmanship of its president Hukiye Kibami. The house discussed the 5% deduction/voluntary contribution to the association for the welfare and upliftment of its members and decided it would treat its member as how Tea Research Association (Tocklai) treated its member gardens. A joint release issued by ANSTGA general secretary I Imi Yaden and vice president SK James thanked the secretary ministry of commerce, government of India and tea board members for sending officials for physical verification of the gardens and appealed to those whose gardens were yet to be inspected to wait till the officials arrive for the second phase. AZU conference-cum- ZSUM diamond jubilee DIMAPUR: The 20th general conference of All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZU AMN)-cum- diamond jubilee celebration of Zeliangrong Students’ Union Manipur (ZSUM) will be held on March 3 to 6 at Maha Kabui Namching village, NH-53, Senapati district Manipur on the theme ‘Journey of Hope and Change’. Main highlights of the conference will be academic and interactive session, literary meet, cultural regale, musical bonanza, talent show and ‘dimki’ session. AZSU assistant general secretary Nchaheing Kompoing informed that departure and pick up point for Nagaland delegates on March 3 would start at 7 a.m at Jalukie town and 8 a.m at Old NST Dimapur. Members have been informed to contact ZSUN president Penam 9856862674 and finance Secretary Elungbam AZSU at 9436609091. KKGK emergency meeting DIMAPUR: Kulolau Khukishe Ghami Kuposhukulo (KKGK) has convened an emergency meeting on March 6 at 9:30am at its office, Darogapathar Dimapur. Kahato Sumi, chairman KKGK has requested all the office bearers and executive members to attend the meeting. Longleng DPDB meet DIMAPUR: District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting -cum- field visit for the month of March 2010 will be held on March 9 at Nyangchei Nalla (between Yanog and Pongching villages). The meeting will be chaired by parliamentary secretary R&D REPA and Chairman DPDB S. Pangnyu Phom. All DPDB members have been informed to reach the venue on March 8. Yanthan clan meet DIMAPUR: General meeting of Yanthan clan has been rescheduled on March 6, 10 a.m at Baghty (Soku). Units have been informed to send representatives at the meeting. Helpers’ club conducts blood test DIMAPUR: Helper’s club with the assistance of Assisi Centre for Integrated development organised a blood group test camp at the centre for women on February 26. Dr. Rongsen, vice president of the Helpers Club and Dr, Senti Temsu Ao assisted the camp. Altogether 200 women were treated at the camp at Khermahal. The blood group test was initiated by Sr. Terese, secretary of Assisi centre for integrated development. Helpers’ Club informed that it had been providing assistance to the victims of natural calamities and needy club since 2008. SVSU clarifies DIMAPUR: Referring to the news item ‘SVSU session for better community’ Shaki Village Students’ Union (SVSU) on February 7clarified that it was the union’s 44th session and not as rendered. PRYO condemns extortion DIMAPUR: Phek Range Youth Organisation (PRYO) has condemned the incident of February 20 where three persons extorted money between Losami and Lanye junction. A press note issued by PRYO president, Khusuzo and general secretary, Vevoyi informed that three ‘extortionists’, Thüjove, Zhoveyi and Zaveshe from Phek village wearing camouflaged uniform used toy guns, intercepted a truck bound for Jessami and took some cash amounting to Rs. 45000 and materials worth Rs. 7000. Meanwhile, PRYO extended gratitude to the SDPO Phek and police personnel and the commander of 15th Battallion FGN and its cadres for assisting in arresting the culprits and also appealed the authorities to award befitting penalty to the culprits. PRYO further assured to extend co-operation and support to law and order department, district administration or any other groups or organization striving forward to eliminate such unwanted acts in the society.
