The Post Graduate Students Union Nagaland University Campus Kohima (PGSU-NUCK) on Monday reiterated its stand to obtain its rights amid various grievances faced by the students in the University. This was discussed during a general meeting of all units under PGSU-NUCK held at Ura Academy Kohima. The meeting was held to discuss and deliberate on various grievances and problems faced by the students.
President of PGSU NUCK, I. Zhimomi stated that the objective of the meeting was to discuss and take decisive steps to achieve dignity and a common goal for students. He called upon the students’ community to be prepared to stand for their rights.
The president stated that Nagaland University was old enough to be a reputed university with its inception in 1994, however added that the university was reputed for the wrong reasons. Expressing dismay over various grievances faced by the students in areas of equipments, infrastructure, campus, hostel, etc, Zhimomi said that the environment was not conducive for studies. He added that the students were denied of their rights to justice, education, and their right to voice their opinions.
While stating that the university had failed to redo the plight of the union over the years, the president assured that the union would take decisive steps to leave footprints for the future students. Earlier, during the meeting, the president released ‘Exposure’ a monthly bulletin of the union.
