W’shop on commercial farming in Phek DIMAPUR: Farmers Wing of NPF, Phek division and Confederation of Naga Farmers Union (CONFU), Phek will be organizing a workshop on commercial farming for village level farmers in Phek district on March 8, 10 am at Town Hall, Phek. Parliamentary secretary, social welfare and women development, Chotisu Sazo would be the speaker in the first session while Neiba Kronu, deputy chairman, state planning board and Deo Nukhu, advisor, NRE, S&T and art and culture, Rokobikho Savino, secretary, CONFU, Imtitemjen Ao, DEO, Phek amd Imyu Lepdang Ao, DHO, Phek would speak in the workshop on various topics. All village unit secretaries of NPF farmers’ wing Phek , CONFU, Phek and well wishers have been requested to attend the workshop. Association of Public Health Engineers conference DIMAPUR: The general conference of Association of Public Health Engineers (APHE), Nagaland has been convened on March 12 at Niathu Resort, 7th Mile Chumukedima and registration would start from 9am and the inaugural function at 10am. The association has informed that Dr. K. Ngangshi Ao, minister PHED and Zhaleo Rio, secretary to Government of Nagaland would be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. It also informed that APHE Raffle Draw (members only) would be held during the conference and registration of new members with one time fee of rupees two hundred and annual membership fees of rupees five hundred to be submitted through the respective divisional representatives or in person during the conference. Meanwhile, all members have been requested to attend the meeting and to submit agendas to the office bearers at least seven days before the conference. Sanitation campaign in Kohima KOHIMA: A one day IEC Workshop for Action Plan villages under Communitization (TFC) and Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) will be held on March 3, 9.30 am at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima. CCDU, PHED executive director Kevisekho Kruse has informed villages under TFC Nachama, Nerhema Model, Seiyha Phesa, Tuophema, Jakhama HQ, Kigwe town, Kezo town, Kezoma, Kidima, Kisama Heritage village, Mitelephe, Chiede Model, Hydro Project Dzuza. Menguzouma, Sc. College, Jotsoma, Sechu HQ ( Zubza ), St. John Bosco School, Khonoma, Tsuru Block, Tsuru Block, Henbenju K.Nyishunyu Kantsunyu Khenyu, Tseminyu Old town, Yikhanu, Nerhema, Botsa, Gareiphe Bawe, Seiyhama, Teichuma, Dihoma, Mezoma , Kiruphema Basa, Zisunyu, Ziphenyu, Logwesunyu, Tseminyu town, Rengmapani, Kasha Junction ME School, Phenshunyu,Tsosinyu, Tongsunyu and New Terogunyu, under TSC Phezha, Khonoma, Peducha, K.Station, Tesophenyu new, Tsonsa, Gukhanyu, Gareiphe Basa, Thizama, Tseminyu South, Chakhabama, Pfuchama and Kigwema to send three WATSAN Committee members to attend the workshop registration of which would start by 9 a.m. HVC bans hunting, fishing DIMAPUR: Hovishe village Council (HVC) has prohibited hunting and fishing with chemicals or generators within its jurisdiction. A press release issued by HVC chairman T. Howoto Holo stated that fine of rupees 5000 would be imposed to those found violating the rules. GVYO bans destruction of wildlife KOHIMA: The Gariphema Village Youth Organization has banned destruction of wildlife under its jurisdiction. A release by the union stated that it has banned use of poisonous powder, liquid, machines etc of any form in rivers, hunting of animals or birds and camping. It also banned plucking of tree seeds or natural flowers, cutting down of trees and burning of jungles without accurate necessity. The union cautioned the public that defaulters would be asked to appear before the union and would be punished as per resolution of the union.
