Identity card-D re-newel completed
DIMAPUR: The Nagaland Pensioners Association Tuensang Unit has completed the identity card-D re-newel for the academy year January to February 2010, as per rules and regulation of Card-D hand book. Meanwhile, the unit is preparing list of non renewal Card-D for pensioners/family pensioners along with P.P.O. which would be submited to the government pension authorities. It further informed Card-D holders of Tuensang District Unit pensioners/family pensioners to re-new the Cards before March 2010.
DIMAPUR: The All Nagaland Electrical Field Worker’s Association (ANEFWA) has informed district and sub-division controlling officers, field officers, ministerial staffs and field staff that misappropriation and such related action with regard to and in respect of revenue would be viewed seriously and that such cases/matters of anomalies and mismanagement/misappropriation would be taken to the higher authority/authorities for appropriate action “This is for strict compliance and effective action for all the members of ANEFWA”, added the release.
CANSSEA executive meet
DIMAPUR: An emergency annual conference of the CANSSEA executives would be held on March 18, at 11am. in the Conference Hall of CANSSEA office Building at Tin-Pati High School Road, Kohima. The meeting has been convened to dissolve the existing central office bearers, elect new central office bearers and to discuss other agenda/business matters. Free cataract surgery camp in Longleng district
DIMAPUR: Free Cataract IOL surgery camp sponsored by Longleng District Health Society (NBCP) was held from February 23 to 27 at District Hospital Longleng, led by State Blindness Control Programme Officer Dr. Takunuksung and Eye Surgeon Dr Hedongpiupe from the department of Health and Family Welfare. The team had conducted 28 cataract surgeries and treated 741 cases. Meanwhile, people of Longleng district have expressed gratitude to medical team and district health society Longleng (NBCP).
DIMAPUR: All Small Tea Growers of Kiphire District (ASTGAKD) has informed that Tea Board officials have physically inspected all genuine Tea gardens that applied for subsidy with proper files and documents. DIMAPUR: Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) has convened an emergency executive meeting on March 6 at 11 am at the Association office to discuss important matters. All members have been requested to attend the meeting and submit their agenda if any 15 minutes before the meeting.
Earth Hour 2010 on March 27
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Pollution Control Board has appealed all eco- club members, families and friends to join with the rest of the world in switching off the lights between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm on March 27 in observance of Earth Hour 2010.
Registered societies notified
DIMAPUR: All registered societies under jurisdiction of EAC Chumukedima have been directed to report to office of the EAC Chumukedima for submission of requirements as (directed by ministry of home affairs) on March 10. EAC B. Henok Buchem ina press release informed that defaulting societies would be held responsible for any fallout.
ICSN International Women’s Day
DIMAPUR: Indigenous Cultural Society (ICS) Nagaland in collaboration with Wada Na Todo Abhiyan national NGO would be organising International Women’s Day programme on March 8, 10 a.m at ICS conference hall, clock tower junction, Dimapur. Chief guest for the occasion would be Naga council president Savi Legesie.
Nyavii Khu festival
KOHIMA: Lephori Village will be celebrating Nyavii Khu on March 5 with G. Kaito Aye , minister for Road and bridges as chief guest. Nyavii Khu is the festival which welcome the New Year and it is during this festival that different rituals are performed for various activities (agricultural) that are to follow for the coming year. It is also only during this festival that marriage ceremonies were performed in the olden times. All Lephori citizens settled outside the village have been invited to attend the celebrations.
SIRD refresher course
KOHIMA: State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD)Nagaland will be conducting a refresher course for District level Training of Trainers (ToT) under Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) form March 8 to 11 at SIRD Kohima. Fooding and accommodation will be provided by the Institute and they are requested to report at SIRD hostel March 7 evening.
Registration of non- local cultivators
DIMAPUR: Shoxuvi village council (SVC) has informed all paddy field owners to register names of non- local cultivators working under them within March 31 and submit registration fee of rupees 100 per house hold. SVC chairman Vilhoto Yeptho informed that failing to register the names would lead to termination of non-local cultivators from the village jurisdiction.
District Congress Committee Phek
DIMAPUR: Meeting of District Congress Committee Phek has been convened on March 10, 9:30am in Phek town in connection with visit of AICC secretary in-charge of Nagaland, Sanjay Bapana with president NPCC I. Imkong, CLP leader Tokheho Yepthomi and PCC officials on March 9 in Phek. All DCC office bearers, ACCC presidents, District frontal chiefs and its office bearers, PCC office bearers, PCC members, ex-INC candidates and party senior leaders have been requested to attend the meeting.
BSNL Mkg to launch 3G
DIMAPUR: BSNL Mokokchung is all set to launch 3G (third generation mobile service) on March 5 at Mokokchung. The 3G service would enable users to use the latest facilities like video calling, Mobile TV, Broadband connectivity, video conferencing, music downloading, faster video downloading etc. It is to be noted here that Mokokchung is the third urban settlement in the state to have this facility after Dimapur and Kohima.
Youth crusade held at Borgara
DIMAPUR: Cultural exchange –cum- youth crusade was held in Borgara , Sodiya Assam, led by Rev Pukrolhü Lohe, Pastor Yoruba Baptist Church comprising Mishing, Arunachal, Adivasi and Naga tribal truopes. The main speakers were Rev A Pertin RBC A./P, Khriehuzo Lohe, chairman Yoms and Merja Bura chairman minorities, Tinsukia, Assam as chief guest while Sushila Gurung blessed the cultural exchange.
