Rio’s plea for children’s future

State Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called upon parents and teachers to re-dedicate themselves for their children in order to achieve programme of SSA and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) which was launched March 2 in Kohima. ”Do not just send our children to school but do our responsibilities to our children as parents and teachers have equal responsibilities for the future of our children” said Rio while inaugurating the Viphoma Government Middle School building constructed under SSA schemes on Wednesday at Viphoma Village under Kohima district of Nagaland. Rio also said VEC, Teachers and Village leaders not just to blaming the teachers but to re-dedicate themselves for children’s future. The government had taken up many programmes for the quality education in the state but it needed a joint effort of both the parents and the children, he added, He also urged the villagers to reconcile with one another if there was any misunderstanding among them in the past. Later the chief minister Rio visited the newly constructed road from Viphoma to Medziphema via Tsiepama under NREGS. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kehoulielie Khoubve, VDB Secretary; invocation prayer by Thepfuviu, Pastor VBK; special number presented by GPS students and women society; N. Vithie Neo, chairman of the Viphoma Village Council, also special number by VBKK choir; Vizielhou Miachieo, secretary of the Village Council delivered the development activities taken up in the Village; and vote of thanks was delivered bu Thepfuhieu Peya, VEC chairman of Viphoma Village.
