3G launched in Mokokchung

Mokokchung town inched a step closer in joining the chorus “Global Village” on Friday as leading telecom operator BSNL launched the Third Generation (3G) services making it the third town to obtain this services after Dimapur and Kohima. The services were formally commissioned by Irshad Wali SP Mokokchung in the presence of a host of officials from the BSNL NE-II Circle. Commissioning the 3G service, Wali lauded the efforts of BSNL for improvement of services in Mokokchung. He added that by introducing the new service would not only benefit the administration but also its consumers. He also requested BSNL to further improve its service, reliability factor so that people get the maximum benefit from it. On behalf of the administration and the people of Mokokchung, Wali expressed gratitude to BSNL for providing 3G service, and was also of the opinion that consumers would definitely maximize the use of this facility. CGM NE-II Circle explained the various facilities and service of BSNL in the state. He added that the BSNL acted as an agent to bridge the digital divide between the people and that BSNL aimed to provide telecom connectivity in all the areas of the state where even road connectivity is unavailable. While explaining the various services and providing the best of services to the people, the CGM also sought the support and cooperation of the public for smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the system. After the formal commissioning of the service, there was a live demonstration of the various features the service would be providing including video calling, mobile TV, broadband connectivity, video conference, video and music downloads etc.
