Dept of forest cautions on forest fire KOHIMA: Talking serious view of the frequent forest fires occurring in Puliebadze Wildlife Sanctuary and adjacent areas, the department of forest, ecology, environment and wildlife has notified public that anyone found hunting, cutting fire word, loitering or indulging in any activity that leads to loss of the forest resources within the areas would be severely punished. Department informed that defaulter would be punished as per provision in the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 that may lead even to six month jail for violation of the Act. Multi-speciality health mela in Peren DIMAPUR: To coincide with State wide Road show -cum- Milenyi festival of Zeliang community at Peren district, department of Health & Family Welfare would be organizing a Multi-Specialty Health Mela on March 10 and 11 at Peren district hospital premises. Free health check-ups, treatment and free basic medicines will be provided during the two-day health mela. Specialists in the fields of surgery, gynaecology, pediatrics, medicine, ENT, ophthalmology etc will be available to treat all kinds of ailments. The public of Peren district have been invited to avail health services during the multi-speciality health camp. Seminar on tribal literature & language KOHIMA: Department of Tenyidie, Nagaland University would be organizing a three-day National Seminar on Tribal Literature and Language with special reference to the languages of North East India funded by Sahitiya Akademi, Kolkata , North East Council, Shillong and North East t Zonal Cultural Centre, Dimapur from March 11 to 13 at Tourist Resort Chedema. Dr. Shiirhozelie Liezietsu, minister of Urban Development and Higher Education will be the chief guest at the inaugural function. The key note address would be delivered by Prof. Badapin War, President, Tribal Literary Forum of India. ‘Music for better education’ DIMAPUR: Organizers of Campus Icon ‘Music for better education’ Team Metamorphosis will be covering Mokokchung and Zunheboto districts in its endeavor to cover entire Nagaland. Campus Icon will start its 5th season from April for students of class 8-12, basing on their performance only, There will be 1st , 2nd and 3rd runners up prizes and certificates and six seasons finalists will get and exposure tour sponsored by the organization. ARSU official meeting DIMAPUR: Akuluto Range Students’ Union (ARSU) has convened an official meeting on March 12 at ARSU office, Akuluto town. The outgoing president, Gideon Chishi has requested all the out going and newly elected office bearers to attend the meeting.
