DUDA advisor inspects UDAP, BADP projects

Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) advisor E.E. Pangteang under took an intensive field inspection tour of both UDAP and BADP projects/schemes undertaken by the Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) at Meluri block, Pungro Block, Kiphire, Shamator Town, Noklak Block, Thonoknyu block, Tuensang Sadar-I and Longkhim block. The entourage was accompanied by director Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) Alan Gonmei, Project Officer (DUDA) Thepfuzakie Angami, public leaders and SDOs of Tuensang, Kiphire and Meluri in their respective sectors. The advisor personally visited the project sites of Indoor Stadium, ground water, Phoisha area hostel, rostrum, Wazeho model village, community cum Conference Hall Kukhwego, road constructions at Meluri (Phek), construction of Gallery and roads at Pungro block, village and town approach roads at Shamator (Tsg), construction of gallery and village approach roads at Thonoknyu block, ITC Pangsha road Culverts construction, inter district/block road construction between ITC Pangsha and Shinnyu (Tobu), approach road to Wansoi, community buildings and Rest House at Pangsha (Tsg), DUDA office building, community and school buildings, town approach roads, foot step, dustbin and Tuensang New Town site development at Tuensang and community building and DUDA rest House at Longkhim (Tsg). All the visiting sites were accompanied by District Administrative Officers, village leaders, contractors with Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) technical officers. Due to time constraint the advisor could not cover Seyochung Sitimi (Kiphire), Tuensang Sadar-II and Noksen (Tsg), so the latest status report of these areas have been entrusted to the SDOs of their respective region to submit the reports in written with photographs to the advisor on or before March 15. The advisor explained the purpose of his tour to the villagers, leaders and administrative officials in all the places he visited and requested them to co-operate and come forward openly for all round development of the areas with the fund available under Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA). Pangteang asserted that as far as DUDA scheme implementations were concerned, there would not be any compromise in quality work and pointed out to the people that Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) was created to cater to the need of the economically, socially and technically backward region of the State and said it should not be misused. The advisor lamented on some of the works which were not satisfactory and called upon the department technical experts to immediately rectify it and submit the report without delay. Meanwhile, the advisor expressed gratitude to chief minister, all Minister/Parliamentary Secretaries/MLAs, District Administrative Officers, Police and Village Guards for providing security, villagers, leaders and department officials for making the 1st phase DUDA field inspection touring programme a meaningful one. The advisor also informed that the 2nd phase tour shall commence immediately after Aoleang Festival cum Mon Road Show from April 9 to 15 covering Mon and Longleng districts.
