Potable water supply in Kma

To facilitate additional drinking water in the lean period, the government through the PHE, KMC, district administration and support of various departments has arranged to distribute drinking water by water tankers and trucks to the public of the state capital. The drinking water distribution shall be as per the under mentioned terms and conditions: According to secretary to the government of Nagaland, PHED, Zhaleo Rio IAS, water distribution would start from March 10 till April 30 from 4 onwards for drinking and cooking purposes only. A nominal fee of Rs.0.20, per liter, would be realized for the water distributed and under no circumstance a full tanker of water shall be sold to any individual/party, such as hotel/restaurant/hostel etc, the release stated. However a Panchayat chairman/ward councilor may buy the full tanker, at the prescribed rate, for onward distribution to the locality people and distribution of water to the wards/colonies, within the existing KMC jurisdiction would be done on rotation basis. The department also informed that any help/information/request for water could be obtained/made through the Control room, at Chaü Parking, near Kohima Zoo, Kohima, through the phones 9436261357, 9436006383, 9436434164, 9436010341, 9436070264, 9402481869.
