Aggrieved teachers condemn SVC system of verification

Aggrieved Teachers Association Nagaland (ATAN) condemning the government for setting up another verification committee ‘Special Verification Committee’ (SVC) stated that it would not cooperate with the government as the process was identical to SIT. Terming the verification process undertaken by SIT as ‘ very questionable’ ATAN demanded for CBI to probe the SIT system.
The ATAN its emergency meeting on Wednesday resolved not to remain a silent spectator as the government had not responded to its representation served on April 1 to commissioner and secretary education and SCERT. A press release issued by ATAN executive member further stated that SIT report should be nullified and a new investigation should be initiated which was applicable to all incumbents from 2002-09.
Meanwhile, general meeting of aggrieved teachers has been convened on April 8, 3 p.m at ISBT Dimapur to deliberate the type of agitation which would start from April 9 in Dimapur. All aggrieved teachers from all districts have been informed to attend the meeting.
