Farmers tour Delhi, Maharashtra

A training-cum-exposure tour of ATMA progressive farmers to Delhi and Maharashtra was organized under the banner of Dimapur ATMA from March to April 3 with an objective to orient farmers and ATMA functionaries with the latest Agricultural Technology for successful entrepreneurship.
Altogether 30 members along with ATMA functionaries drawn from Medziphema, Dhansiripar, Niuland, Kuhuboto Blocks took part in the program.
The team was led by Yanpothung, A.O and BTT Member and Dr. E. Kepfo, VAS, under the guidance of Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development, New Delhi.
The farmers visited National Agriculture Science (Museum) show-casing of 1st generation to the latest generation of Agricultural Technology, Water Management Technology Project, Green House Management, Indo-Israel Agriculture Technology Project at New Delhi.
In Maharashtra the ATMA team visited Jain Irrigation System and Jain PVC & Pipe Factory, at Jalgaon District, where 7,000 peoples are employed and is one of the major successful NGO Projects in the country.
Through this trip the farmers gathered new knowledge on latest technology of drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, various scientific agriculture farming practices for increasing production and productivity of various agriculture and horticulture crops from this Project.
The farmer participants have meanwhile expressed gratitude to Director of Agriculture and S.N.O. Nagaland, Project Director (ATMA), Dimapur and Joint Secretary CARD, New Delhi for having organized such useful exposure trip for the farmer's community as they learnt and benefited lot during their visit.
