Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Saturday reiterated its earlier demand for disciplinary actions against all erring officials involved in appointment of bogus teachers and also for re-deployment of all attached teachers.
“Government has the authority and security to take action against those involved in the appointment of bogus teachers but why is the government hesitating?,” NSF president Mutsikhoyo Yhobu, who was accompanied by his colleagues, asked while addressing media at NSF office here today.
Asserting that federation was fighting for the rights of the Nagas, the NSF president said federation was for the welfare of the Nagas and that no group or faction could stop the federation from its demand to cleanse the school education department. “Self interested or vested interest cannot hamper the interest of the Nagas. NSF is committed and sincere that the memorandum it had submitted is for the better of the Nagas,” he added.
Federation also revealed that despite its earlier dateline of April 9, demanding government to come out with the action taken report, it has decided to give government more time as requested by the latter considering the sensitiveness of the matter so also to pave way for SVC to complete the verification.
Stating that corruption and mismanagement was the biggest issue in the school education department, the NSF said state government to probe into the department had set up an SIT and after thorough investigation, the SIT had submitted and made known to the public its finding report.
“However, there are anomalies in the SIT report as well, for which, the government had constituted another SVC,” the NSF stated. On the demand for redeployment of all those teachers who were attached with the VIPs and in different department, the NSF pointed out that state government had already issued notification on the matter and stressed that appropriate action should be taken.
“It is not only the politician or minister and government officials but certain vested interest are also involved in the appointment of bogus teachers. If the SIT was given a free hand, it could have given clear report but SIT also could not penetrate in certain areas,” the federation stated.
The NSF leaders also warned that SVC should not commit the same mistake what the SIT had committed earlier and bring more anomalies. With regard to this, it demanded that SVC come out with proper report.
“Until and unless government shows its sincerity, the federation will not remain silent, and the federation will keep on fighting tooth and nail for the future generation,” the NSF said.
Further, the federation leader said that it would not remain silent if the practice of bogus appointment and ghost employees were practiced in other departments as well.
It, however, expressed hope that people would realize from ongoing process of cleansing school education department.
