Minkong resort for wayfarers

A popular hangout place for the people of Mokokchung especially the youth was restored into a unique resort named ‘Minkong Resort’. The place is ideally located on the outskirts of the town along the NH 61 above DEF Church under the jurisdiction of Chuchuyimpang village.
The resort was constructed by Mongoya Culture Film’s Society and the resort promises various facilities including a restaurant, watch tower and various amenities for wayfarers, travelers and tourists. The resort was inaugurated by Yashi Jamir District Forest Officer Mokokchung who graced the inauguration as the Guest of Honour.
Delivering his inaugural address, the he said benefits of having a resort in a place like Nagaland was very important as it had a natural scenic beauty. He further said that scenic beauty was a nature’s gift and that with a little modification; one could turn a place into a beautiful one. The DFO also emphasised on consistency and urged the proprietors to maintain consistency.
In the program, a representative of Chuchuyimpang Village Council and President AKM also gave short speeches. deputy Comdt. 2nd NAP Alichen Temsumongba also attended the inaugural programme.
