ANSWFSA executive meeting
DIMAPUR: The All Nagaland Social Welfare Field Staff Association (ANSWFSA) has convened an executive meeting on April 15 at the residence of Tekatemjen, new secretariat junction, Boyavu at 10am. Masasayi, president and Deepak Chetri, general secretary ANSWFSA have requested all the office bearers and district representatives to attend the meeting.
MDY reception venue changed
DIMAPUR: Home Department, Rajya Sainik Board has informed that venue for reception function for Moirang Darshan Yatra to be held on April 12 has been shifted to Old DC Bunglow, Near Raj Bhavan Kohima. All Ex-Servicemen have been requested to attend the function. Further, Ex-Servicemen from Kohima proceeding to Imphal have been requested to report at Old DC Bunglow, Near Raj Bhavan Kohima at 10am on April 12 and Maj Gen RN Singh, GOC 56 Mtn Div Zakhama would grace the occasion.
NSVC to visit veterinary institutions
DIMAPUR: Nagaland State Veterinary Council (NSVC) members will be visiting various veterinary institutions in the month of April 2010. Deputy Registrar, Nagaland State Veterinary Council, Dr. L. Temsu Ao has requested all district veterinary officers to extend co-operation during the visit.
GPRN lifts ban on WSH leadership
DIMAPUR: GPRN has on Saturday lifted the ban on changes in the leadership of the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH). It may be mentioned that changes in the leadership of WSH was banned by GPRN on July 29, 2008. A press release issued by GPRN Kilo Kilonser Rh. Children talent expo 2010
DIMAPUR: Child department CABA Chumukedima will be organising talent expo from April 17 for the children between the age group of 4 to 13 years for Ao community. Category of the competition will be on Bible memory, solo, duet, trio and quartet, prizes of which will be awarded during the ABAM children Sunday programme.
ATAN Aggrieved Teachers Association
DIMAPUR: All aggrieved teachers of Nagaland under the preview of SVC verification have been directed to undergo verification in their respective districts. Aggrieved Teachers Association (ATAN) requested respective DCs to intimate SIT to release all original documents to respective DIS/DEO before verification. Meanwhile, ATAN Dimapur division has extended gratitude to DC Dimapur for extending the date for verification to April 14.
DIMAPUR: B.Ed workshop I & II for batches of 2009 and 2010 would be conducted from April 19-30, 12noon to 4pm at IGNOU programme centre 2019P-Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur. All trainees have been informed to attend the programme.
NPF Phek youth wing meeting
DIMAPUR: NPF Phek division youth wing has convened an executive meeting on April 17, 11am at its divisional office, Phek town. All executives have been requested to attend the meeting.
RSA meeting postponed
DIMAPUR: Rengma Sports’ Association (RSA) meeting scheduled on April 16 has been postponed to April 28 due to some unavoidable circumstances. Asao Seb, secretary RSA has requested all the members to note the changes and further informed that the venue and time would remain the same.
SCLF first session
DIMAPUR: The Surumi Church Leaders Fellowship (SCLF) first session has been convened on April 23 to 25 at Surumi village. Nitoyi Awomi, chairman SCLF has requested all the Surumi believers living in different places to attend the session and further requested the Church leaders, theologians and theological students to enroll personally with the fellowship and the session.
Creative Arts Workshop
DIMAPUR: PowerComm. ministry of Union Baptist Church (UBC) would be organizing a workshop on Creative Arts from April 16 to 18 at UBC, Near Kohima Local Ground with the view to enhance various aspects of creativity such as voice, painting, sound engineering, praise and worship, creative writing and basic musicianship. The resource persons for the three days workshop would include Ajeen Longchari (voice), Seyie Tepa (painting), Howard Irwingstone (sound engineering), Visato Yhoshü (praise and worship), Susan Waten (creative writing), Agnes Tepa (creative writing), Buno Iralu (creative writing) and Khyochano TCK Ngully (basic musicianship). According to a press note, the registration fee for the workshop would be rupees one hundred which includes refreshments at breaks, luncheon and program materials.
IRCS Longleng branch to conduct seminar
DIMAPUR: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Longleng Branch would be conducting a seminar on Red Cross movement on April 16, at 10am at PPC Hall, Longleng. Deputy commissioner and chairman IRCS, Longleng C. K. Nihekhu Sema would exhort and inaugurate the seminar.
Sukhalu village ‘year of platinum jubilee’
DIMAPUR: Sukhalu village under Zunheboto has been observing ‘year of platinum jubilee’ from March 28 where Rev. Yevito, executive secretary SBAK Niuto Mount sanctified the launching and blessed the people. According to a press note, Sukhalu village is a dominant compact village which also is a recipient of the first prize in WATSAN.
YAN appoints advisor, secretary
DIMAPUR: Youth Association Nagaland (YAN) has informed that Noel Emmanuel and Sanjay Chetri have been appointed as advisor and secretary respectively to convenor of YAN, Victo Chishi. Informing this in a press note issued by Victo Chishi has also stated that any official works approached by the newly elected advisor and secretary on behalf of the convenor should be entertained.
NPF welcome members
DIMAPUR: The 46 AC NPF party has welcomed Totok Chingnyu village council and 15 Congress supporters led by Tongam chief Angh and Yiangyam, chairman village council in the NPF fold. According to 46 AC NPF unit Mon general secretary Bongei Konyak and president Tingtong Konyak, the Congress members tendered resignation to support N. Thongwang Konyak former NPF candidate 46 A/C Mon town under the leadership of state chief minister Neiphiu Rio.

ACCC 5th Thonoknyu informs
DIMAPUR: The ACCC 57th Thonoknyu has informed all that resignation of P. Khaoshai from the Congress party had been accepted and was not to be taken seriously. T. Shingnyu, president and K. Tsongtsa (Adm), general secretary ACCC 57 Thonoknyu A/C in a joint press statement said Khaoshai was assigned the post of general secretary ACCC on adhoc basis during the last state general election, but he failed to function his assignments over the years under 57th Thonoknyu A/C. Further, ACCC 57th Thonoknyu has appreciated Khaoshai for his timely resignation and wished him all the best.
GPS Pathso classroom inaugurated
DIMAPUR: The newly constructed classroom at GPS Pathso village constructed under SSA one room extension scheme was inaugurated on April 5 by Angau Thou, mission director SSA Nagaland. Further, VEC of GPS Pathso has expressed gratitude to mission director SSA for visiting Pathso village along with officials and staff from education department and added that such initiative is very rare to a remote village like Pathso. M. Khunho, secretary and Sangtsui, chairman VEC GPS Pathso in a joint press statement said that GPS Pathso has the highest student enrollment in the whole of Pathso area but infrastructural development and bsic requirements for the school still remains to be properly developed.
Teacher’s verification in Longleng
DIMAPUR: Verification of Longleng government teachers whose names have been listed in the bogus and absentee list would be conducted from April 26, 10 a.m onwards at DC office Longleng. For bogus teacher serial number 1to 42 on April 26, 43 to 84 on April 27 and for absentee teachers derail number 1 to 15 on April 28. All teachers are directed to report for special verification team, Longleng with two copies of copies of recent passport photograph, educational certificates from HSLC onwards, original appointment order and transfer order.
Longleng conducts 1st board meet
DIMAPUR: The first advisory board committee meeting of Longleng Town Council was held in DC’s chamber on April 6 under the chairmanship of Deputy commissioner Longleng C. K. Nihekhu Sema along with M. Shayung Phom, SDO (C) and ex-officio LTC and advisory board committee members H. Leisha Phom, Y. B Angam Phom, M. Phulong and Akangla.
Nihekhu while welcoming the members also appreciated the authority for selecting the members at the same time hoped that “expected services” would be delivered to the public by the advisory board.
Meanwhile, the members present unanimously selected Y. B Angam as member secretary and various agendas were discussed for improvement including planning of master plan for Longleng town, fixation of rates and expansion of Longleng town towards Hukphang and Pongo village.
NCP office inaugurated in Mon
DIMAPUR: On the sidelines of the Road show at Mon town on April 7, the office of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Mon district was inaugurated by Dr, Chumben Murry, President, NCP, Nagaland and minister of agriculture.
In his speech the minister expressed optimism that the party will grow from strength to strength. He also stated that maximum development was taking place in all parts of the state under the DAN government led by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio.
Parliamentary Secretary for R.D. and REPA, S. Pangyu Phom also addressed the gathering and exhorted the party workers.
The function was attended by the Chief Angh of Zangkharn Village, G.Bs and public leaders from neighboring villages, Azio Kithan, general secretary, NCP, Nagaland and Zasi Meyase, secretary NCP, Dimapur district.
The meeting was chaired by Tsemrong, President, NCP, Mon district and Bible reading and invocation led by Rev. Chemyuh Konyak, Executive Secretary, KBBB. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Chingo Walim, general secretary, NCP Mon district.
