NBM conducts mat making training

The Nagaland Bamboo Mission (NBM) conducted a mat making training on April 7 and 8 for newly constituted Tamlu Mat Making Cluster and the training was conducted simultaneously at Namhaching village and Tamlu village. According to a press note, the Tamlu Mat Making Cluster covers eight villages of Longleng district as Shetap, Yonglok, Namhaching, Ladigarh, Tamlu, Kangching, Ngetnyuching and Tamlu compound and is expected to produce approximately 3000 mats per month.
Further, added that Anaki mat making cluster under Tuli has been supplying 3000 to 6000 mats per month to Arunachal Ply Industries Limited since 2006 but now the demand has gone up to 20,000 per month and to meet the demand the new cluster was necessitated.
