: NSF has urged the state government to take punitive action against those officers responsible for “ mass” bogus appointment in the school education department.
NSF education secretary cum chairman education committee, Ahito Achumi and vice president cum chairman public grievances cell, Sinhilo Thong in a joint statement demanded that the officers named by the SIT Vigilance be brought to book before the expiry of the deadline given to the government. It mentioned 14 names who were arrested and released on bail. Stating that the SIT did not mention the designation of accused persons from serial No 3 up to 14, the NSF said the identity of the other accused should be revealed.
The NSF also mentioned names of 13 persons who obtained anticipatory bail from various courts.
It demanded immediate termination of the service of DIS Tuensang, Lanu Imchen “indicted” by the Vigilance (currently on anticipatory Bail) for alleged corrupt conducts. The NSF said the DIS Tuenssang was caught selling free text books meant for students at Jorhat but has not been arrested.
The NSF quoted various remarks from the SIT report and said that on this basis, the government should take punitive action without any hesitation or favour for the accused/ indicted officers who went scot free.
The NSF said suspension of director education , Nipusilie alone was not satisfactory when enough grounds were given for the suspension of other officials involved in the scam.
The NSF also criticized the state vigilance for withholding the names of the “so-called high level government functionary.” It asked “who is above the law that the SIT was scared to mention their name?” .The NSF said the education ministers from 2002-2009 should be questioned.
