GHS Chare in pitiable condition

United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC) has expressed dismay over the pitiable ongoing construction of Government High School at Chare.
USSC members on their visit to the school on Monday found the construction of the building as ‘unsatisfactory’ as the materials used in the building construction were all ‘cheap and of bad qualities’. It may be mentioned here that Government High School at Chare was under construction since August 27, 2007. Talking to this correspondent USSC members said, as per the estimation the construction was supposed to be completed in August 2008 but it still remained incomplete due to which student communities faced lots of hardship in their educational career.
USSC has appealed to contractors and authorities to take immediate measures for completion of the school building construction.
Further, USSC also visited the cyclonic hailstorms affected areas in Lerise and Longkhim village. It also expressed dismay over the step motherly attitude shown by the government by not granting relief materials to the affected people of the villages. USSC has appealed the government to provide immediate relief to the affected areas. USSC team donated a cash amount of Rs. 5000 each and also distributed 20 plastic chairs to Chare GHS and Lerise GPS.
Meanwhile, USSC also lauded the authorities of GHS Chare for initiating in making a temporary school building and office which resulted in running the school in normal condition.
