Col. (retd) Temsu dies

Colonel (retd.) Temsu Ao, the first Naga to be commissioned as an Army officer in free India, died at Mokokchung on April 13. He was 84. His funeral service would be held at his residence at Mokokchung April 14, 8 a.m., family sources said. Meanwhile, the NPCC president I. Imkong has expressed shock over the demise of col (retd) Temsu Ao. In his condolence message to family members of the deceased, the NPCC president said late Temsu was an active and respected student leader of the Aos during his younger days. In his demise, the NPCC president said Aos in particular and Nagas as whole have lost a pioneer and a leader. He also expressed heartfelt sympathy to members of the bereaved family, and prayed God Almighty to give them grace and strength to bear with the loss.
