DIS Tsg suspended

State department of school education has placed DIS Tuensang Lanu Imchen under suspension with immediate effect from April 13 for attempting to dispose off school textbooks in Assam without approval of higher authorities. According to an official source, the department had taken cognizance of the offence when the DIS was arrested in Assam but later released on intervention of the state government. Lanu, who is to retire on May 31 this year, faces departmental proceedings. Meanwhile, the text books which were confiscated Tuesday by ENSF’s four federating units including confederation of Chang students’ union (CCSU), Yimchungrü akherü arih-ako (YAA), Khiamnuingan students’ union (KSU), united Sangtam students’ conference (USSC) was confirmed Wednesday by district administration and admitted that there were current text books in the seized consignment. The deputy commissioner Tuensang, Y.L. Jami, SP Tuensang Jasbir Singh, DEO Tuensang, EAC Sadar, SDPO Tuensang, president CKS, DIS and staffs, and members of CSUTT, CCSU, YAA, and USSC were all present during the course of verification and confirmation.
