Faith Theological College (FTC) held its first graduation ceremony on Thursday with MLA Hewoto Awomi as chief guest and Asia Evangelistic Fellowship northeast India director Reverend Kaifa Ezung as guest speaker.
Speaking on the occasion, Hewoto said the graduating students were newly finished products of a factory called Faith Theological College beautifully designed and manufactured and ready to be sent out to serve the purpose they were called for.
He told the students that the task they had in hand was not ordinary but intended for heavy duty and to perform extra-ordinary tasks. Hewoto also told the students that if they were committed to God, no task was impossible or hard and their reward would be worth more than any pleasures of the world.
He urged the students to let their light shine throughout the world and commit their lives to serve God.
Hewoto asked the college to contemplate on the quality and workmanship of their products and expressed optimism that their first graduates would present the best service for the Lord.
Delivering the commencement address, reverend Kaifa Ezung said that many were called to serve the Lord but only a few are chosen and being chosen meant chosen for joy, love and friendship. Ezung said being the chosen ones however hard the path, if they abide by God they would find joy in their work, they would find love if they love others like God loved them and be partners and friends with God to finish His unfinished task and spread the gospel and good news.
Stating that there were “black sheeps” even among pastors and missionaries, Ezung asked the graduating students to question themselves on whether they can really be ambassadors for Christ and were ready to claim that they were for the Lord and His service.
Ten students were awarded the degrees with two in master of divinity and eight in bachelor of theology. Other awards including academic excellence, language proficiency award in Hebrew, Greek and English and best discipline awards were also given.
