Government Primary School, Salangtem Ward, Mokokchung celebrated its Golden Jubilee on April 16 with MLA, C. Apok Jamir as chief guest.
Exhorting the students, parents and faculty members of the school, Apok Jamir said that jubilee celebration of the School gives an opportunity to both students as well as teachers of the past and the present to look into the achievements and the sacrifices made, which have brought the School to the present stage and which every one should feel proud of. He said that from a humble beginning in 1960, the school had come a long way and had produced many great personalities in different fields.
While encouraging the teachers Apok said the most valued and key people in the society were the teachers and said bounden duty of a teacher was to identify the embedded qualities of every student and to show them the right path.
He also asked the students not to take things for granted, stating that only the best would survive in today’s highly competitive world. There is no substitute or compromise for hard work and dedication in gaining greater heights, he added.
