A general health check up for staff of sanitation branch of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) was conducted on April 16 at DMC office premises. About 120 staff under sanitation branch were examined and medicines including de-worming, tetanus, multivitamin, and first aid kits were distributed free of cost.
The medical camp was initiated by Nikhashe Sumi, chief executive officer, DMC. DMC advisor, Er. Vikholie Nienu donated Rs. 10,000 to meet the expenses of the camp. In this regard, Nikhashe Sumi, on behalf of the DMC expressed gratitude to Er. Vikholie Nienu for the donation and also Dr. Kavito Zhimomi for conducting the camp.
Er. Vikholie Nienu stated that DMC members need good health in order to put Dimapur on the move. He also mentioned that under the initiative of CEO and Er. K. Keditsu, chief advisor, vaccination of Hepatitis ‘B’ for all DMC staff is being processed.
Later, Nikhashe Sumi and Er. K. Keditsu along with the members DMC Advisory Committee visited the present dumping ground of the DMC and assessed the situation of the property. No concrete proposal has been worked out, however members were positive that new initiative to improve the dumping ground would be undertaken in the days to come.
