20 students graduate from Eastern Bible College

The 36th batch of Eastern Bible College (EBC) Dimapur graduated on Saturday at a ceremony held on the theme “Seeking the Lost” with Rev. Dr. Simon Tan of Singapore as speaker.
Delivering the commencement address based on nature of the ministry of God, Rev. Dr. Tan exhorted the graduating students on a six point principles that laid the foundation of ministry. Citing excerpts from the second book of Corinthians 4:1-6, he asserted that doing God’s ministry was a divine gift called upon by God and not the individual self.
The reverend underlined the importance of being content with ministry work and being specific in its nature. Mentioning the life and works of Apostle Paul as an example, Rev. Dr. Tan urged students to develop courage, perseverance and honesty in preaching the gospel.
He also stated that the primary purpose of serving in the ministry was to exalt Christ and called upon the graduating students to serve God through their service to the people and foster a pastoral responsibility for people.
A total of 20 students graduated in Bachelor of Theology (BTh.), 15 in Master of Divinity (MDiv.) and one in Diploma in Theology. EBC academic dean presented the graduates and EBC principal, Rev. Dr. T N. Lotha conferred the degrees while prayer and commissioning were pronounced by principal, faculty, senior church leaders and prayer warriors.
Meanwhile, Graduate of the Year was awarded to Man Bahadur Ghatani of M.Div and Academic Excellence Award to Lian Hau Za Kim of M.Div and Medozenuo Thou of Bth. while other awards included Most Improved, Campus Life, Christian Ministry, Project & Thesis Writers, Social Life and Contribution to Music.
