Reacting to a press release issued by V. K Area G. B’s Association which was published in a local; daily on April 15, the Tsungiki Phili Doyang Union (TPDU) clarified that V.K villagers were not invited to the community fishing due to the incident on April 3 where a group of people from VK area attacked one person from Philimi village during the community fishing.
Tsungiki Phili Doyang Union informed that though it enforced ban on use of explosives, generators and chemicals etc within its village boundary some groups of people from V. K Area were caught using explosives and still has not paid the imposed fine. For which, the union has asked the V. K Area G. B’s Association to take up the responsibility to collect the fine amount from the groups along with apology letter and hand over to Tsungiki Phili Doyang Union. Union also added that unless the “people responsible” were brought to book and an apology letter was provided it would not entertain the V. K Area in the coming fishing festivals.
