World Veterinary Day in Kohima

Nagaland State Veterinary Council (NSVC) and the Nagaland Veterinarians’ Association (NVA) would jointly observe World Veterinary Day 2010 on April 24 at Kohima with minister for planning and co-ordination, veterinary and A.H., parliamentary affairs and evaluation, T.R. Zeliang as chief guest. A series of events would be conducted to commemorate the day including art competition at mission compound, Kohima from 8.15am to 10.15am for students of Class 3 to 6 as junior category and students of Class 6 to 10 as senior category.
Organizing committee convener, Dr. K. David Sema has informed that winners will be awarded with Certificates accompanied by cash prizes ranging from Rs.300 to Rs.5000. Interested persons have been requested to contact 9774009529/ 9436007607 for additional information.
Meanwhile, the department has informed that there would be a Dog Show from 10.15am to 11.30am at mission compound, Kohima for Pedigree, Cross-bred and Non-pedigree (Local dogs) categories with prizes from Rs.500 to Rs.5000 and certificates to be awarded to winners in each category.
Registration forms would be available at Veterinary Hospital, Tinpatti Kohima (9206325785); Metro Veterinary Clinic, Opposite New NST, Kohima (9436401166); ANIMS Clinic, Tinpatti, Don Bosco Road, Kohima; Animal Provisions, below women development department, High School Road, Kohima (9436830159/ 9436830137/ 9436017800). Free Anti-Rabies vaccination would be conducted from 12 noon to 2pm at Mission Compound, Kohima with multiple vaccination booths where pharmaceutical representatives will be available with pet related promotional products and accessories.
Further, committee convener informed that a seminar on ‘One World, One Health’ would be organized for Invitees, RVPs and NVA members at Hotel Japfü, Kohima from 3pm to 5pm on the same day with health and family welfare, Nagaland principal director, Dr. V. Sekhose and Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health specialists president, Dr. S. P. Singh as resource persons.
