Parliamentary secretary, social welfare, child & women development, Chotisuh Sazo inaugurated the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Project at Nsong administrative Hqs under Peren District April 20.
The inaugural programme cum-public meeting was attended by Tarie Zeliang, MLA, Nchumbemo, SDO (Civil) Tening, a host of government officials, village elders of Nsong area and public leaders. Speaking as chief guest, Sazo stressed the commitment of government to the people in bringing all-round development and uplift of people in the interior parts of the state. He said infrastructural development would follow the inaugural programme in near future. In turn, he asked people to make the best use of government initiatives and programmes for their progress and upliftment.
Short speeches were also delivered by Tarie Zeliang, MLA and Azu Newmai, ex-MLA. In his welcome address M.S. Thangpong, EAC, Nsong appreciated the efforts of the government in bringing fruits of development through various governmental projects to the people at their doorsteps. He pointed out that the opening of ICDS project was a long-felt need of this remote area and that people were grateful to the government for making it a ‘reality’.
