GOC-in-C visits Kohima World War II Cemetery

The GOC-in-C Eastern Command, Lt Gen Bikram Singh, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, visited IGAR (North) Kohima on Wednesday to review the security situation in Nagaland.
According to a defence release, GOC-in-C was accompanied by Bubbles Singh, Regional President, Family Welfare Organisation (FWO), Eastern Command and Lt Gen N K Singh, AVSM, VSM, the GOC Spear Corps. During his visit to HQ IGAR (North), the GOC-in-C was briefed by IGAR (North) on the operational and various other aspects, and the security situation in the state. The GOC-in-C stressed on the need for synergy of efforts at all levels and a humane approach.
Bubbles Singh attended the ladies meet organised by the ladies of IGAR (N) and interacted with the families and enquired about their welfare. The GOC-in-C and and Bubbles Singh, accompanied by the GOC Spear Corps paid a courtesy visit to chief minister Neiphiu Rio at their residence. They also called on, Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar, at Raj Bhawan, Kohima.
The GOC-in-C on a visit to the War Cemetery paid homage to the martyrs at the Kohima War Cemetery and fondly recalled his visit to the Kohima War Cemetry, during his Second Lieutenant days, wherein he spent quite a few hours deep in thought about the tremendous valor and the supreme sacrifice by the brave soldiers.
