Come April 23, Stimulating The Opportunities Resources and Methods (STORM), a youth festival is all set to empower and arm the youth to become dynamic force for Christ. The only difference about this festival is that; it will set a challenge to youth to think ‘out of the box’ and follow the changing trends of worshipping Christ.
Interacting with media persons at Sinai Café, pastor Shavez Willams asserted that their aim was not against the Church but to relate with the youth and make them understand Christ though not in a contextualized way.
“We want to be the bridge” he averred. However he also admitted that opposition from Churches has always been there for his un-traditional ways of worshipping.
“Twelve years ago, praise and worship was an altogether a different thing but see the condition now” he added.
Citing various miracle of Jesus, Shavez avers, God works in different ways and He is creative.
Maintaining that church has all the resources and untapped energy of the younger generation, Shavez urged them to envision themselves by keeping in pace with the outside world.
“Church can be the dynamite and have a dynamic influence upon the youth” he affirmed.
At the same time, he also clarified that STORM is just a fellowship of like minded people and a channel to harness the enormous potential of the youth for Christ.
Pastor Shavez along with his team has called upon the youth to be trendsetters of worshipping God.
The ten member Faith Ministries team from Mizoram, who were also present added it was wonderful and awesome journey for them all this time after associating with STORM.
While admitting that the churches in Mizoram were still traditional, they added that thinking ‘out of the box’ to worship God has certainly helped them.
The three days ‘STORM’ will be held from April 23-25 at IMC hall with praise and worship from Faith Ministries from Mizoram, our very own Sinai Ministry, Dementia, Frozen Heart, Cross 180°, Alive 107 and Off Beats. While the speakers will be Shavez Williams and Allemsunep.
For all those young believers, ‘unleashing the STORM’ will a great opportunity to come and feel Christ with a difference.
