White Revolution Scheme
: Minister for veterinary & animal husbandry, T. R. Zeliang has said that a total of 107 individuals have availed Dairy units under the White Revolution Scheme during 2009-10. Replying to a starred query from MLA I. Imkong on the floor of the House on Monday, Zeliang informed that Individual Dairy units, consisting of 2 animals per unit, have been availed by 107 beneficiaries.
He also said that 10 units of Community Dairy Project, consisting of 10 animals per unit have been selected during 2009-10, besides four Model Dairy Projects (consisting of 40 animals per unit) that have been selected.
Vehicles for NHAK
Minister for health and family welfare, Kuzholuzo informed that three vehicles were purchased during 2009-2010 for the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).
In his written reply to Congress MLA P. Chuba Chang, the minister also revealed that total Rs. 963.93 lacs (Non-plan- Rs.813.93 lacs and state plan Rs.150 lasc) were allocated to NHAK during 2009-2001 as Grant in Aid.
Tourist amenities
Parliamentary secretary for tourism, law and justice Yitachu said the tourism department has constructed 21 tourist amenities so far in the state.
He informed that the total expenditure incurred for such buildings stood at Rs. 548.770 lakhs and that 11 buildings were in use.
Asked about the terms and conditions to allot buildings to private individuals or groups, the parliamentary secretary said it was leased out to interested parties for three years or more by entering into MoU with the parties on payment of nominal rent to the department.
SEZ Bill 2009 passed
Nagaland Legislative Assembly on Monday passed the Nagaland Special Economic Zone Bill 2009 which was introduced in the last state assembly session and deferred to this session.
Consideration and passing of bill was moved by state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio.
The bill extends to the whole of Nagaland and it would come into force on such dates and in such area or areas as the state government might by notification in the official gazette, appoint. Different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Bill for different areas.
The main objectives of the SEZ are generation of additional economic activity, promotion of exports of goods and service, promotion of investment from domestic and foreign sources, creation of employment opportunities along with development of infrastructure.
Telecom deptt
Nagaland minister for roads and bridges G. Kaito Ayeh has informed that an amount of Rs. 31, 16, 740 has been received during 2009-10 from the telecom department as compensation for roads damaged due to laying of Telecom lines, in reply to a starred question raised by Congress MLA Joshua Sumi, during the last day of the 6th session of 11th NLA Monday.
State government has set up a technical committee to look into the issue of allegations against the NCSU by ENSF for poor workmanship especially on NH 155, informed minister for road and bridges G. Kaito Ayeh in his written reply to Congress MLA S. I. Jamir. The minister also furnished the list of contractors who have so far been awarded works on NH-155 after taking over from BRO by PWD.
Transaction day
State government has declared March 31 as “transaction day” for all treasuries and sub-treasuries in the state in view of the financial year ending and the heavy transactions involved.
A communiqué issued Monday by department of finance additional director Akong Longkumer has informed all TOs and STOs for strict compliance.
