State chief minister Neiphiu Rio informed the state Legislative Assembly that Air India has imprinted the picture of Ao Naga shawl on the aircraft without the permission of Nagaland government.
Replying to a question of Congress legislator I. Imkong on whether Air India took permission to use Ao Naga shawl on planes, Rio said AI had not sought permission from the government, but it was the pride of the Nagas that the picture of Ao Naga shawl has been used on the body of the aircraft, reported UNI on Monday.
“We are glad that they are popularising our culture,” Rio said in his concluding remark on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address on Saturday. He also assured that government would look into the matter if any misuse was reported.
