VBS Bible Game seminar
DIMAPUR: Voluntary Bible School (VBS) has asked all churches and schools to contact them for participation and arrangement of materials for Children Bible game seminar and Students Bible game seminar in the upcoming summer and winter programmes.
SIRD orientation course at Meluri
DIMAPUR: SIRD conducted a two-day orientation course for VCCs, VDBs and women leaders under Meluri Block on March 25 and 26. The resource persons included DIET lecturer, Dr. Zhanuo Phoji and SIRD senior lecturer, Dr. Juthsutho Phoji while topics on SGSY, MGREGA, PMEGP, Bharat Nirman, and HIV and AIDS were covered. A total of 90 participants from 29 villages attended the training.
MHM to visit hospitals
DIMAPUR: Mercy Hospital Ministry Wokha (MHM) has informed that it would be visiting hospitals and clinics in Wokha area to pray and share the Word of God to the sick people four times a year. A press release by MHM founder, Nyimshio Mozhui stated that the ministry was undertaking the act to fulfill God’s vision.
NBSE clarifies
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) chairman, Nini Meru has clarified that with regard to news item under the caption ‘NBSE become member of COBSE’ which appeared on March 24. The Chairman clarified that the NBSE has been a member of COBSE since 1978 and the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) was a voluntary association of all the Boards of School Education in India. It also has associate members from friendly countries. She also said that at present there were 47 member Boards and Councils of Secondary Education and not 47 schools as mentioned in the news item.
TPDU community fishing
DIMAPUR: Tsungiki-Philimi Doyang Union (TPDU) has informed that community fishing at Doyang river would be held on April 6 and a sum of rupees twenty would be collected from the public from other villages. TPDU has requested all from the neighbouring villages except VK Area to join the community fishing and strictly prohibited consumption of alcoholic drinks on the day of fishing.
ANCSU second union assembly
DIMAPUR: The second union assembly of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has been convened on April 16, 11am at NSF conference hall, Naga Club building Oking, Kohima. All office bearers, tribunals, senior leaders, unit presidents and general secretaries of all the colleges have been requested to attend the assembly.
East Dmu ATC on trade license renewal
DIMAPUR: Adhoc Town Council (ATC), East Dimapur has informed all the business establishments under its jurisdiction that the last date for renewal of trade license was March 31 and that stern action would be taken against defaulters. The council further requested all shops to keep their valid trade permit in their respective shops and to avoid confusion during checking.
DNSU, ANPSA Dimapur unit meet held
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA), Dimapur unit along with some head of the institution conducted a joint consultative meeting on March 27 at Pilgrim School, Dimapur. Various issues pertaining to the welfare of the students and plight of the institution in maneuvering for positive introspection of the students were deliberated in the meeting and resolved to coordinate with each other in the future.
CRC talent night show
DIMAPUR: Christian Revival Church (CRC) youth department Wokha would be organizing second talent night show on April 17, 5pm at CMHS Chapel hall. All participants have been requested to submit names by April 5 at CMHS Chapel hall at 3pm and said there would be a cash prize for first, second and third winners and runners up. YBCC to conduct music training
DIMAPUR: Yimchunger Baptist Church Chumukedima (YBCC) would organize one month music training on Drums and Guitar basics at its church campus for youth of Eastern Nagaland Churches in Chumukedima. Informing this in a press release, YBCC youth director stated that registration would begin from April 3, 3pm at church campus and no other fee would be charged except Rs.100 for registration. Meanwhile, there would be an evening buffet on April 8 from 3-6pm at YBCC preceded by music and entertainment, the release added.
RABCU holds youth evangelism
DIMAPUR: Ralan Area Baptist Churches Union (RABCU) held Youth evangelism cum sports from March 15 to 17 organized by RNBEK at Yanpha Baptist Church under the theme ‘New life new hope. The speakers for the occasion included Rev LL Kikon KBES and Yanpemo Ovung Associate pastor LBCD who delivered the word of God to 205 youth and asked them to march forward in the new life of Christ. The RNBEK thanked all resource persons, speakers, individuals, group, and villages for their financial help.
Sensitization prog at Old and New Showuba
DIMAPUR: District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) Dimapur and Nagaland State AIDS Control Society organized sensitization cum awareness program at Old and New Showuba on March 28 with GBs, council chairmen, church leaders, students and other stake holders. During the program Meyisangla DPO gave keynote address and the resource persons were Dr. Kavito Zhimomi M.O I/C Niuland PHC, Nitoshe, Dimapur district ICTC supervisor NSACS and Toshi secretary DNP+.
Orientation prog for CMCF beneficiaries
DIMAPUR: A one day orientation programme for beneficiaries under Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund (CMCF) 2009-2010 under Mokokchung district was held in the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on Monday. All the beneficiaries in the district attended the programme. According to an official bulletin, in his key note address, deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, C.M Tsanglao called upon the beneficiaries to implement the schemes to make their respective schemes a source of their livelihood. He also asked them to utilize the funds judiciously and with propriety. Officials from financial institutions, senior government officers from various departments in the district conducted the programme. Barring few absentees, more than sixty beneficiaries attended the programme.
VDBSUSB general meeting held
DIMAPUR: The first ever VDB Secretaries Union Sanis Block (VDBSUSB) general meeting was held on March 25 at Senka Colony, Doyang. The meeting was chaired by union president and vice president gave the welcome address followed by self introduction. BDO Sanis Block, M. Tumjen Longchar and his team also attended the training who declared to give full cooperation to the union for the development of the village and further urged the VDB secretary and village council to sincerely implement the schemes effectively with transparency and accountability. JE and APO NREGA Sanis Block also spoke in the meeting.
