Nagaland GB federation meeting
DIMAPUR: Executive meeting of Nagaland GB federation (NGBF) has been convened on April 9, 11 a.m at the commissioner’s office conference hall. Kohima. All office bearers of NGBF and presidents of district GB associations have been requested to attend the meeting.
Poilwa Youth Organization silver jubilee
KOHIMA: Poilwa Youth Organization will be celebrating its silver jubilee on April 3 at Poilwa village Council hall on the theme “renaissance of culture”. The jubilee will be graced by minister planning and coordination T.R. Zeliang,. PYO has invited all citizens of Poilwa, various frontal organizations, officers, public leaders, church leaders, neighbouring villages and well wishers to the silver jubilee celebration.
Western Yimchungü Hoho session
DIMAPUR: 18th general session of Western Yimchungü Hoho will be held on April 3 at Hoho HQ in Showuba village. All office bearers, executive members of Hoho have been directed to reach Old Showuba village by April 2. Public leaders, officers, GBs and office bearers of frontal organisations have been requested to attend the session.

DIMAPUR: Sanis Town Baptist Church (STBC) has convened a general meeting on April 3, 8 am at STBC Office to discuss matters relating to forthcoming Golden Jubilee slated on December 28 and 29.

DIMAPUR: Ghokimi Students Union (GSU) has convened a general meeting on April 4, 12 pm at the residence of Hoito Swu, teacher (GSU Banker) related to the upcoming 50th years, Golden Jubilee. DIMAPUR: First general meeting of ‘The Volunteers’ has been convened on April 3, 3:30 p.m at the residence of its convenor.
Zbto medical board to conduct exam
DIMAPUR: Zunheboto district medical board would be conducting medical examination for declaration of invalidity/permanency of service from April 21-22, 10am at the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Zunheboto. In this regard, CMO Zunheboto has informed all Heads of Department (HoDs) to submit list of staff with age, sex, D/B and date of joining service to the office on or before April 10.
MTF & PCC music dept. concert
DIMAPUR: State Music Task Force (MTF) in collaboration with Patkai Christian College (PCC) department of Music would organize a concert on April 3, 4pm featuring Hungarian piano virtuoso, Marouan Benabdallah at PCC. An alumnus of Bela Bartok Conservatory and Franz Liszt Academy, Benabdallah’s repertoire ranges from Scarlatti to 20th Century composers besides Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Debussy and Ravel. Informing this in a press release, PCC director of Music, Margaret Shishak has requested all interested persons to attend the concert.
Fish farmers’ training at Zunheboto
DIMAPUR: State department of Fisheries organized a fish farmers’ training on Intensive Agriculture in ponds/tanks under NFDB from March 23-27 at Zunheboto. DFO Zunheboto, C. Kilosao was the main resource person along with his staff and the training highlighted on how to take care while breeding in ponds/tanks and modern scientific technology.
SHG training at Tizit
DIMAPUR: A training programme for Self Help Groups (SHG) sponsored by ATMA Mon was conducted at Tizit on March 26. Tizit block convener, Imli highlighted basic concept of SHGs and a brief deliberation on Nook Keeping was also shared while Mayang spoke on cultivation of mushroom and banana. A total of 21 SHG members attended the programme.
Thonoknyu A/C Congress leader join NPF
DIMAPUR: 57th Thonoknyu A/C Congress party general secretary, P. Khaoshai has tendered resignation from the party to join Nagaland People’s Front (NPF). Informing this in a press release, Khaoshai stated that he has decided to join NPF under the leadership of Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and NPF president, Dr. Shurhozelie and in support of parliamentary secretary for Fishery, R&R and P&S, S. Heno.
WIWO Farmers Club launched
DIMAPUR: WIWO Farmers Club Reguri Village launched on March 16 was inaugurated by SBI staff Meluri, Mujutho. The orientation training programme was conducted by Manager NABARD Dimapur, Bendang Aier. Speaking at the programme, he encouraged the newly formed club to organize on the action plan, draw up calendar of activities for the year and to hold up objectives of farmers club programme such as development through credit; technology transfer, capacity building and awareness creation.
Northern Zeme Area Cong supports NPCC
DIMAPUR: Northern Zeme Area Congress Ngwalwa Circle has resolved to extend support and co-operation to NPCC president, I. Imkong and CLP leader, Tokheho for the strengthening of the party. This decision was taken during its meeting held March 27 at Hening Kunglwa village council hall. According to a joint press statement from seasonal chairman, Ndabe D. Hao and secretary, Itwa Haikumbe the house has entrusted DCC president, Heling Zeliang to consult Jalukie valley circle and Peren Circle for re-strengthen the organization as and when re-organization arise from AICC/NPCC.
Peren DPDB meeting held
DIMAPUR: Monthly Peren DPDB meeting for the month of March 2010 was held on March 30 at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren. The board recommended the application for up-gradation of Athibung veterinary health centre to veterinary dispensary. Calling upon the officers to cooperate with the government in promoting tourism in the state, the chairman Deputy Commissioner, Peren Khrienuo C. Metha urged officers to comply with motor vehicles rules of the government for display of state slogan ‘Nagaland - Land of Festivals’ on vehicles. Application for grant of taxi permit to ply between Peren and Kohima submitted by one Letgong was approved by the board. Board members also discussed matters pertaining to ATMA, RKVY and other developmental activities in the district. Inspector of Taxes, Peren, Ichutlube gave a brief account on the departmental activities.
Training on life skills in Phek
DIMAPUR: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Phek organized training on life skills from March 22 to 26 at PWD Rest House, Phek Town which was inaugurated by Y. Laksman Singh, DYC Phek. According to a press note, 18 youth clubs from various villages participated in the training and Ngapunyi Albert Krocha and Netü Rosy Shupao, National Service Volunteers (NSV) were the resource persons. The training emphasized on the ten core life skills with activities, team work, group discussion, story telling and analysis, chart presentation and others for the better understanding of the participants. Nyusetho Nyuthe, ADC Phek was the chief guest for the closing function who gave away the certificate to the participants, incentive awards to 12 selected youth clubs and also distributed sports materials to participating clubs.

Verification of teachers in Mokokchung
DIMAPUR: A special verification drive of bogus and absentee teachers under Mokokchung district will be conducted from April 20 onwards from 9 am - 5 pm at DC conference hall. The schedule will be as follows: Serial number 1-33 under bogus list on April 20 and serial number 34-66 on April 21. While for absentee teachers, serial number 1-25 will be conducted on April 22 and serial number 26-49 on April 23.
SVCU dismay over non-payment of salary
DIMAPUR: Shamator Village Citizens’ Union (SVCU) has expressed dismay over the non- payment of wages to the workers of road side cutting NH-155 PWD of Shamator under Tuensang district. According to SVCU president A. Ato, National Highway-155 roadside cutting work was done till a stretch of more than 45 km during the year 2008-09 as per government directive. However, workers have not yet received wages till date while the amount for salaries in other districts have already been released after completion of the work, the president alleged. SVCU have appealed the department in charge to redress the grievances without delay.
NASU golden jubilee from April 8
DIMAPUR: Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) golden jubilee celebration will be held on the theme ‘Retrospection, Introspection, Prospect’ from April 8 to 11 at Nerhema village. The inaugural programme would be graced by state chief minister Neiphiu Rio as chief guest. Union has informed all delegates to reach the venue before 1 pm on April 8 and requested all units to attend the conference with specified number of the delegates intimated and submit two flags measuring 6ft x 4ft, registration fee of Rs.20 shall be collected from each delegate attending the conference, every unit must come with intending and probable candidates for the tenure 2010-2013 NASU office bearer, for the Lt. Suolahie Memorial Trophy Volleyball (men/women) only the students are eligible and the participating teams should come prepared with team jersey, adding the units must prepare one special item for the talent night/cultural extravaganza. Meanwhile all former executive members, senior members, villages, students and well wishers have been informed to attend the conference.
