Aggrieved Teachers’ Association Nagaland (ATAN) has stated that government should retract its projection of alleged bogus teachers, restore their former status and also return appointment orders to aggrieved teachers. A press release issued by ATAN convenor Vikato Swu and secretary Limayanger said SIT categorized teachers in four groups - bogus, doubtful, absentees and genuine but appointment of all teachers between 2002-2009 were done under same procedure and none of the teachers were called for interview. It also stated that constituting another committee under the name of Special Verification Committee (SVC) was a direct rejection of report submitted by SIT.
ATAN further questioned that if SVC was to conduct verification then basing on what criteria would the committee conduct the verification. Stating that for years aggrieved teachers had discharged their duties with utmost sincerity but targeting innocent teachers just because of “selfish interest of officials”, ATAN said it would go to any circumstances for its right and government would be solely responsibly for any unwanted situation.
