Usutomi Village Council (UVC) and Zhevishe Village Council (ZVC) have stated that the two councils would not support and cooperate with newly elected office bearers of Saptiqa Area Elders’ Council (SAEC).
A release issued by Usutomi Village Council (UVC) chairman Hekishe Shohe, secretary Atoho Shohe, Zhevishe Village Council (ZVC) chairman Yehevi Awomi and secretary Yetovi Achumi stated that Saptiqa Area Elders’ Council (SAEC) had chosen representatives from Saptiqa town, Shena Old, New Shena, Usutomi and Zhevishe villages during its meeting on January 20 and resolved to elect new SAEC office bearers from amongst them.
However, it stated that other villages had elected other members as new Saptiqa Area Elders’ Council (SAEC) office bearers without abiding by the meeting resolution and without consulting with Usutomi Village Council (UVC) and Zhevishe Village Council (ZVC).
Both the village councils further added that their non-cooperation was not for personal discrimination but due to “partiality” from other villages.
