Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland branch (IRCSN) conducted a medical/ health camp on 26 and 27 March at ITC (DAN).
The team consisted of Dr Seyiekietuo, co-convener Medical and Relief, Dr R Zinyu MC member IRCSN, Dr NT Sangtam; Dr Temsu, Dental surgeon Longkhim, Dr Penjung Lam Medical specialist Civil Hospital Tuensang; Dr Lanso ENT specialist civil hospital Tuensang, Dr Mukan Medical officer, Ayush Noklak; Khena, Block programme officer Noklak, nurses and assistants Longoi, Thangnjo, Peyan, Hoshea, Mongshai and Laam .
The team was accompanied by MC members and staff including Malemla Imlong, Helena Yepthomi, Kholi Dolf, Lucy Merry and host of drivers.
The team was received at Tuensang by honorary secretary TY Sangtam and at Noklak by Vikishe Sema ADC and chairman IRCS, Noklak along with W Lachu Lam honorary secretary.
The inaugural function was chaired by W Lachu Lam while Mehao, Pastor Wolam Nyukyam Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings.
Short speeches were also delivered by Ngon vice president Khiamniungam Tribal Council , P Beshim , treasurer IRCS Noklak and Dr R Zinyu, MC member and Zakie Kire general secretary IRCSN. Benediction was proposed by Pastor ITC (DAN) Baptist Church.
The team examined 530 patients and provided free medicines, conducted 7 minor operations while one serious patient was shifted to Noklak by Red Cross Ambulance for further treatment. IRCSN also provided relief materials including used clothing to fire victims of Shisp village under Myanmar where 87 houses were destroyed by fire
The team expressed gratitude to TY Sangtam honorary secretary Tuensang, Vikishe Sema ADC Noklak and his team, MS Civil hospital Tuensang, SMO, community health center Noklak Medical officer in charge Primary health centre Pangsha for deputing doctors, nurses and assistants, W Lachu Lam honorary secretary and his team of volunteers, public leaders, L Kire commissioner and secretary forest for providing vehicles and individuals who donated clothing.
The team also thanked Drug wholesalers/ distributors and IRCS Dimapur for donating medicines towards the camp .
