Both the DC Dimapur and Thilixu village have agreed on the rate of compensation for land for laying the proposed railway line from Dimapur to Kohima. According to DC Dimapur Maongwati Aier, Thilixu village agreed to the rate of Rs.60 per sq.feet at par with other villages “in the larger interests of the people and towards development of the state”. The acquisition process will now be processed, he said. Thilixu village was represented by its chairman, Head GB and six other GBs. It may be mentioned that the state government has mooted realignment of the proposed railway line from Dimapur to Kohima owing to disagreement over the rate of land compensation. This was stated in the recent assembly session. The acquisition of land has been delayed owing to the compensation rate etc.
