In connection with the damage report of residential houses, kitchen by cyclonic wind in Akhoya Village and Changtongya town on March 30, deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, C.M Tsanglao along with with SP Mokokchung, DPRO and members of IRCS branch Mokokchung carried out spot verification on March 31.
During the spot verification, it was found that at total number of 41 residential houses/ kitchen were found damaged at Akhoya village, out of which 5 houses were severely damaged.
At Changtongya town, the team found that there were total number of 50 residential houses/kitchen were damaged and after verification, the members recommended that those houses/families who were severely affected may be given a sum of Rs. 10,000/- and 5 bundles of CGI sheet each as immediate relief.
The committee also recommended that those houses/families who house were partially damaged may be given a sum of Rs. 4,000/- and 2-3 bundles of CGI sheets each. It may be stated that after completion of the verification the minister home, Imkong L Imchen visited Akhoya village and Changtongya town along with the chief minister’s cash relief fund of Rs 5 lacs and handed over to DC/SDO (C), CTN for distribution to the affected families.
SDO (C) Changtongya was then directed to distribute the cash relief to the affected families as was recommended by the verification committee.
In addition to the fund, minister home, Imkong L. Imchen also distributed Rs 5,000 each to the 2 injured persons and three families whose houses were earlier gutted by fire from his pocket. APR’s from the affected families of cyclonic wind shall be submitted by SDO (C) Changtongya accordingly.
