Plea for relief
DIMAPUR: The cyclonic/hailstorm that occurred in Aghunato sub- division on Macrh 30 and 31 damaged roofing tin/C.G.I. sheets. The hail stone about 4 to 5 centimeters in diameter, weighing about 50 to 60 grams rendered number of families homeless. According to Hoshito Awomi, Head D.B. Aghunato, completely damaged houses include 70 houses in Thokihi village, 30 houses in Luvishe New village, 20 houses in Luvishe Old village, 48 houses at Ghokishe village, 89 houses (about 20 to 30 houses completely damaged) and the rest partially damaged at Aghunato town while the extent of damage at Lukikhe village, Shevishe village, Zheishe village, Yezashi village, Asuto town and adjoining villages were yet to be ascertained. The GB has further appealed to the government to provide immediate relief is requested for the homeless villagers.

MTBA opens Father School
MOKOKCHUNG: A three-day ‘Father School’ on the theme “Lord, I am a father” was conducted at Mokokchung from March 26. The resource persons for the school were Dr. Lima Jamir and Dr. P. Medem.
The school has lots of practical activities through which fathers learnt their responsibilities in the family.
According to Associate Pastor & Coordinator Father School Mokochung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA)Temsuwati Longchar, MTBA is planning to reach out to more churches with the school. MTBA felt that the school was very important in the church today since there were no programs for fathers though there were other programs for the kids, women, youth, mission etc. With this plan, the church is trying to make the school more efficient and effective, the associate pastor and coordinator added.
Recruitment in Railway
DIMAPUR: Directorate of Technical Education, Nagaland has informed that the Government of India, ministry of railways recruitment boards has invited application in the prescribed format for various categories of posts and candidates who have passed engineering courses in degree or diploma may apply for the posts. Informing this in a press note issued by A. Kathipri, additional director and HoD has also stated that prescribed format and detail information may be obtained from the Directorate of School Education, Kohima during office hours or may be downloaded through website www.rrbguwahatigov.in and the closing date for receipt of applications by post in the respective railway recruitment board is on April 20 up to 5:30 p.m.
IAF open recruitment rally
DIMAPUR: Indian Air Force (IAF) would be conducting open recruitment rally from April 20 to 25 at Bhagat stadium, Rangapahar Army Cantonment Dimapur for male candidates for enrolment as airmen in groups ‘Y’ and IAF (Police). In a press note issued by Wg Cdr Rajeev Dong (Retd), deputy director Rajya Sainik Board, Government of Nagaland has informed that candidates born between July 1, 1989 and September 30, 1993 (both days inclusive) and passed Class 10 plus 2 in Science, Arts or Commerce with 50% aggregate marks are eligible and original certificates or mark sheets along with three photo copies and seven recent colour passport photographs are required. Further, informed that candidates qualifying testing in English, reasoning and general awareness would appear for the physical test 1.6 km run to be completed in 8 minutes followed by interview and medical examination.
NPF Tsg not to entertain ‘self styled’ member
DIMAPUR: NPF Youth 53 A/C Tuensang Sadar –I has notified that there was no such post as ‘working president’ in the Youth wing. A release issued by the unit president S Imlongnukshi Chang stated that it was against the anti party activities that Kejong Chang one of the vice presidents of Tuensang Sadar –I was campaigning for re-induction of removed area president and general secretary of 53A/C by using the designation of Youth wing working president for his selfish motives. The release said youth wing would not entertain any person/ organization dealing with ‘self styled’ working president.
Dimapur teachers verification
DIMAPUR: DC Dimapur Maong Aier has informed that special verification of teachers would commence from April 12 from 11am at conference hall and SDO (C) II office room of DC office, Dimapur. The schedule of the verification for bogus teachers would be- on April 12 from serial number 1 to 150, on April 13 from 151 to 250, on April 14 from 251 to 350, on April 15 from 351 to 450, on April 16 from 451 to 550, on April 19 from 551 to 650 and on April 20 from 651 to 749. Further for absentee teachers, on April 21 from serial number 1 to 150, on April 22 from 151 to 250, on April 23 from 251 to 350, on April 26 from 351 to 450, on April 27 from 451 to 550 and on April 28 from 551 to 629. Bogus and absentee teachers are to produce two copies of recent passport photo, educational certificates from HSLC onwards, original appointment order and transfer order to present place of posting before Special Verification Committee and any relevant document.
FGN cautions on illegal taxation
DIMAPUR: FGN has informed that despite earlier notification issued on illegal taxation in and around Kohima and Dimapur, reports of rampant tax collection and illegal contribution letters in the name of FGN were still reported. Stating this in a notification, FGN Dy secretary Kilo Affairs Litsapa cautioned that any contributions issued in towns not bearing the signature of Ministry of chaplee affairs would be treated as illegal and stern action would be taken against the offender. In case of fraudulent letters the case could be referred to concerned ministry or contact no 9402018283. The Dy secretary Kilo Affairs also mentioned that notification was issued to safeguard the public from harassment and was issued by FGN under the president ship of “Brig” (Ret) S Singnya.
