Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) during its tour to Longleng from March 22 to 25 to check various development works under VDB/ functioning of government primary, middle and high schools and utilizations of SSA funds, found out that schools faced problems of proxy teachers, shortage of teaching staff in some schools and excess teaching staff, and response to utilization of SSA funds were different.
Taking these problems into serious concern, PSC reported the matters to Deputy Commissioner Longleng for further necessary action. The conference also inspected the construction of roads and bridges under various schemes such as NEC, PMGSY, PM Package, NLCPR, and expressed dissatisfaction over the poor workmanship of some contractors.
Stating that two working season have already lapsed, PSC said it would no longer tolerate laid- back attitude of the contractors and cautioned that matters would be taken forward to ENSF if contractors did not take up the workers seriously.
Further, Phom Students’ Conference in a press release informed that it would convene a consultative meeting of all VDB and VEC Chairman under Longleng district on the last part of April.
